We believe a strong parent/school partnership is critical to a dynamic learning environment and success for each child. Parent support is fundamental to all we do, and we rely on volunteers for many aspects of day-to- day life at Magellan. We need every family’s commitment to generously give of their time, talents and resources to maintain a strong community and continue Magellan’s legacy of excellence. The minimum volunteer requirement is Lunch/Recess Supervision once a month per child and to chaperone voyages.
Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Lunch & Recess Supervision
Parents are required to volunteer once a month per child for lunch/recess/RAFT Supervision. If parents cannot fulfill this monthly commitment, they are expected to work with other family members or another designee to obtain a background check and get trained to fulfill this commitment on parents’ behalf. This is one of the most important ways you can help our school as parent assistance during lunch/recess allows teachers time to plan and collaborate.
Lunch Distribution
Our MWF lunch vendors serve as fundraisers for the whole school. Distributing lunches is an easy way to serve our community!
Carpool
Volunteers are needed each day to keep dismissal moving safely and swiftly.
