*NEW* Dungeons & Dragons
Open to grades 5-8. meets on Wednesdays, tuition $250
Dungeons and Dragons is a table top roleplaying game where students take on the role of a character they create, with their own custom rules, stats and abilities. At its core, D&D is a series of encounters where the players collectively decide how to problem solve. This program will dedicate the first session to character creation and then players are guided through an adventure over the remaining weeks by a Guild of Adventures Dungeon Master. No experience required, all materials are provided, and players of all experience levels are welcome. Please note this club is capped to six students. Musical Theatre
Open to all grades, meets on Wednesdays, tuition $550
The production for the 2026-2027 year is Destination Disney! In this exciting performance-based class, students will sing, dance and act their way through songs and scenes from Disney movie favorites including Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Beauty and The Beast, The Lion King, High School Musical, Descendants, Moana, Encanto and more! Each week, students will develop their skills in vocal performance, movement, character development and ensemble collaboration. Meets 2:35-3:45 on Wednesdays. Tennis Time, Fall 2026
Open to grades 3-5, meets on Tuesdays, tuition $295
The fall session of Tennis Time will run August 25-November 10. Students have a blast while learning forehands, backhands, serves, tennis coordination, footwork, and so much more! Click here to register. For questions, contact Coach Matt.
Open to grades 4-8, meets on Fridays, tuition $300
Magellan Robotics hosts beginner and advanced robotic teams that compete in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge. FIRST LEGO League is a team-based challenge that teaches robotic design, programming and scientific research. Each season the team builds and programs a self-guided Lego Spike Prime robot; creates, researches and presents an innovative solution to a real-world problem; and learns and demonstrates core values and teamwork. Robotics season runs from August – December (or later for teams advancing to tournaments). Magellan holds a robotics summer camp that is typically a prerequisite for participating on the team, and is open for rising 4th graders. More details about the camp can be found here.
Art Club
Open to all grades, meets on Thursdays, tuition $155 per session
Calling All Creative Mariners – Art Club is back! Beginning September 17, students are invited to join us after school for an hour of creativity, exploration, and fun. Art Club will meet on select Thursdays from 2:45–3:45
p.m. Each class will give students the opportunity to explore different materials, learn new techniques, and create artwork that encourages imagination and individual expression. Projects may include drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture, and more.
Fall Session: September 17, October 1, 8, 22 & 29, November 12 & 19
Winter Session: December 3, 10 & 17, January 7, 14, 21 & 28
Spring Session: February 4 & 25, March 4, 11 & 18, April 8 & 15

Chess Club
Open to all grades, meets on Mondays, tuition $149
We are partnering with Triangle Chess to bring a competitive chess team to Magellan! Students will learn chess fundamentals and strategies that enhance learning skills and critical thinking. We will build confidence and have the option to compete against other local schools. Novice students and experienced players are encouraged to sign up as we will have two levels. Environmental Club
Open to all grades, meet on the 2nd Friday of each month, no fee
Magellan’s Environmental Club is an opportunity for students with a passion for the environment to get involved and make a difference “If children grow up not knowing about nature and appreciating it, they will not understand it, and if they don’t understand it, they won’t protect it, and if they won’t protect it, who will?” -David Attenborough. Environmental Club meets on the 2nd Friday of each month after carpool. Members age 10 and up may participate in two stream clean ups on our adopted stream. For questions, contact Ms. Ford.
Odyssey of the Mind
Open to all grades, meets on Thursdays, tuition $100
A team-based program that teaches students how to develop and use their natural creativity to become problem-solvers. Participants combine this learning with their interests and passions to solve unique open-ended problems, which can range from writing and acting out an original performance to designing a balsa wood structure that can withstand weights placed on it. OM also emphasizes teamwork, budgeting, time management, public speaking, and so much more. Magellan’s OM program runs September through March. Please note that many of these programs operate independently of The Magellan Charter School and incur a cost. See below for a list of our 2026-2027 offerings.
